They bloom prolifically all summer - starting earlier than Grandmother's garden Phlox - with strong colors that won't fade. The large vibrant flower clusters are lovely in vases and fragrant, too! The deep green lance-shaped leaves climb the strong stems and create a dense, compact clump that is attractive even when not in bloom. Plant Phlox liberally toward the back of the perennial border, spacing them 18" apart in humus-rich, well-drained soil. Divide every 2-3 years.
