Hydrangea - Piamina, Hydrangea macrophylla 'Piamina', is a dwarf size, tight mounded, deciduous flowering shrub with large, rich pink flower heads that bloom above large, lush green leaves. Prune as needed just after flowering because new flowers are borne on previous season's growth. In colder climates, plant in a south facing, wind-protected area. It blooms from summer through fall, and the flowers are blue in acidic soil, pink in neutral soil. It prefers rich, loamy soil that is moist, but well-drained and does well in full sun or part shade. Arranged in a container for the patio, this hydrangea will establish a truly dramatic focal point.
