![]() The Hardy Geranium Sweet Heidi, 'Geranium sanguineum', has large, pink saucer-shaped flowers with bright eyes that make it an excellent symbol for Switzerland's good-natured storybook character, Heidi. Not only does it produce lovely flowers, but its low maintenance requirements and spreading mounds of attractive lobed foliage are prized as well. Easy to grow as single specimens in the border or massed in large beds. Useful to fill in where spring bulbs have bloomed and disappeared. Can take some shade but best with sun most of the day. Hardy Geraniums bloom profusely in spring, sporadically throughout the summer, and again in fall. Scientific Name : Geranium 'Sweet Heidi' |
