 The Gazania Daybreak Red Stripe, 'Gazania splendens', are early to flower and the compact 8 inch tall plants produce flowers with red stripes on yellow petals. The blooms open with the sun, and stay open longer than most varieties. The Daybreak Red Stripe flower profusely throughout the warmer months. The daisy like flowers are very colorfulPlant them in well drained soils or in pots. Gazinias thrive in hot, dry areas and have moderate frost tolerance. Water only when dry. Gazanias are sun worshippers, and they close up at night and on very cloudy days. Use in mass plantings, ground covers, edging, bedding, and containers.
