Garden hose reels are essential items in the garden for your watering needs. Whether it's to water your plants using a hose attachment or to attach the hose onto a sprinkler to water your grass, a long enough garden hose is a necessity. A few pointers when choosing your next garden hose.
- choose a well known brand - I've tried the no name variety and invariably they end up kinking or hardening up under the sun so that they aren't pliable anymore - they aren't worth it. You pay for what you get. If you pay peanuts for a garden hose, you will end up with a lacklustre product that won't go the distance (literally).
- I find hose guards are handy little items that prevent the garden hose from dragging across your garden beds and ruining your annuals - unless you are ultra careful - and watch where you tug the hose at ALL TIMES.
- Use a hose reel or hose attachments onto your wall to keep the hose neat when not in use. Or use a decorative flower pot - very effective so long as you take care when you coil the hose when you're finished - otherwise you end up with a tangled mess (highly frustrating stuff).
- I find that the retractable hose reels are a great idea and it helps with you have a really long hose - saves you a lot of elbow grease!
