Concrete Planters
Concrete in its natural state has an attraction of its own. Its coarse consistency has a rugged appeal which is particularly effective outdoors in informal gardens. However, nowadays because they come in a variety of shapes, from huge garden urns to contemporary tubs, they can fit with any other type of garden, particularly if painted white or a pastel colour.
Concrete planters are generally larger than other types of flower pots, so when selecting a place for them, make sure it’s the right one because once filled with soil they would be near impossible to move.You may want to consider putting them on pot movers make them easier to reposition – just remember that concrete planters are heavy and the pot mover may not be able to take the weight of large ones.Concrete planters are also porous so consider sealing them if you don’t want to have to water as often.
There are lots of concrete planters out there and whilst some purists would argue that nothing beats the real thing, the lookalike versions nowadays are so realistic that they are hard to apart. These are the best I’ve found in each price range.

After several years of working as a sculptor at American Greeting Cards in Cleveland, Ohio, George decided to apply his artistic skills to stone. It literally changed his life. Besides being a beautiful spiritual flower pot in the summer, it is stunning filled with poinsettias during the Christmas holidays. Soon he was winning awards at art shows and exhibits, sculpting commissioned pieces for the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C., and carving custom stone panels for a school, library and village clock tower.
